Prepare your number, write your opening, and role-play a tough manager before the real conversation.

1. Know your range

Help me prepare to negotiate my salary for [role]. Define my goal, acceptable range, walk-away point and best alternative.

Get market data first; ask the assistant what sources to check.

Write an opening statement asking for [amount] based on these achievements [list].

Lead with value delivered, not personal need.

Role-play as a manager who says there's no budget. Push back realistically for 6 exchanges, then give me feedback.

Do it out loud, twice.
